We are looking for a Sensor Engineer IV who will be primarily responsible for research, design, development, testing and support of the electronic hardware used within ground penetrating radar systems exercising a wide degree of creativity and judgement based on extensive experience. Responsibilities include support of new and legacy system architectures as well as individual sub- assemblies. This candidate will collaborate with firmware, software, algorithm and systems engineers in development and improvement of sensor solutions.
Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Design RF analog, digital, and mixed signal circuits
- Capable of both leading a small R&D team as well as assuming a support role
- Participates in the writing of proposals and white papers on both new and existing technologies
- Simulate Designs
- Test, troubleshoot and repair circuits and systems
- Schematic capture and layout of PCB’s
- Develop verification/validation plans and procedures
- Participate in field tests of systems
- Research new technology and development tools

Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field required
- Ten to fifteen years of relevant engineering experience in Aerospace or Defense development environment, eight with Master’s, designing, prototyping and troubleshooting.
- Sensor interfaces (accelerometers, temperature, etc.)
- Communications interfaces (Ethernet, RS232/422/485, USB)
- Experience utilizing CAD software such as Mentor Graphics PADS to develop and document designs
- Experience designing for and testing to MIL-STD 461 and MIL-STD 810 or equivalent
- Must have ability to obtain and/or maintain a DoD Secret level clearance
- Strong spoken and written communication skills
- Signal processing programming with MATLAB
- Knowledge of Ground Penetrating Radar systems
- Knowledge of ultra-wideband RF systems
- RF design experience desired
- FPGA firmware development experience desired
- Circuit Modeling and simulation experience desired
- RF ASIC design experience a plus
